iWand
Operational workspace for 6G transponder configuration, testing and deployment preparation.
iWand is a rugged handheld acoustic test and configuration unit used with Sonardyne 6G subsea instruments in the workshop and on the back deck. It can retrieve instrument settings, support configuration changes and assist with pre-deployment testing.
Source control: this workspace is operational guidance, not a replacement for the current OEM manual, project procedure or approved risk assessment. Verify revision and project requirements before use.
Get Configuration
Place the iWand antenna against the compatible 6G instrument transducer and retrieve its configuration.
Review / Configure
Connect iWand to the survey/workshop PC and review instrument details in the applicable 6G configuration software.
Set Configuration
Transfer the approved job settings back to the correct instrument and verify the configuration was accepted.
Functional Tests
Run applicable sensor, acoustic and release checks before deployment. Record failures and do not deploy unresolved equipment.
Generate Report
Generate and retain the instrument test/configuration report as deployment evidence.
The official Sonardyne support centre lists the iWand User Manual, iWand 6G Configurator software and iWand Quick Start Guide. Controlled copies can be added here later.
Sonardyne manualsBefore deployment, investigate any failed communication, incorrect UID/address, unexpected sensor reading, release-test failure or configuration mismatch.
Do not treat a failed or incomplete test as deployment-ready.
