Compatt 6 / Compatt 6+
Deployment preparation and iWand workflow for Sonardyne 6G Compatt transponders.
Compatt 6+ is an intelligent acoustic transponder used for high-precision LBL and USBL survey and construction operations. Standard Compatt 6 remains common in offshore inventories but has been superseded by Compatt 6+.
Compatibility: Compatt 6 and 6+ can share Wideband 2 workflows in compatible systems, but Fusion 2 / Wideband 3 operations require the appropriate plus-generation equipment. Confirm the project system before mobilisation.

Configuration, testing and report workflow
Get Configuration
Place the iWand antenna against the Compatt transducer and retrieve the unit configuration.
Review on PC
Connect iWand to the PC, refresh the 6G Configurator and verify UID, address and current settings.
Apply job settings
Set the approved acoustic address, power, gain and other project-specific configuration.
Set Configuration
Write the approved configuration back to the correct Compatt and confirm successful transfer.
Test & report
Test applicable sensors and release, then generate and retain the unit test report.
Use the current Sonardyne manual, firmware guidance and deployment-test instructions as the controlled OEM source. Internal project procedures should be stored separately with revision and approval metadata.
A unit with an unresolved communication failure, incorrect address, failed sensor/release test, or configuration mismatch should not be considered deployment-ready.
Record the final configuration and test evidence against the physical unit UID.
